Re: How to... newb
yep, clamping forceps to hold nuts and jewellers screwdriver to tighten screws. I only have one arm to use and have mine mostly built so far using those two tools. work in a plastic tray of some sort a piece of electrical tape or blutak (the squishy stuff you hang paper on the wall with) to help hol...

Re: New Wink - Base Sketch Error
Go to the getting started page http://www.plumgeek.com/getting-started.html Then scroll down to the section headed Install Ringo Software Libraries and make sure you followed those precisely in the way and order specified there. A lot of people get these wrong so get errors trying first code so dont...

Re: New Wink - Base Sketch Error
Can you reread an answer Kevins post please, particularly about the tabs. Its likely you missed a step with installing the needed extra files into the arduino software. The arduino software, the files package for the robots and a third package of files for some of the hardware installed onto the rob...

Re: New Wink - Base Sketch Error
I dont see anything obvious with your code and the errors don't point to that. I'm at work away from my Wink so can't test my idea but I think its a problem in the "WinkHardware.ino" file. If you feel confident you can try replacing it. Go to some code I posted here on the forum: http://fo...

Re: Arduino errors
cool. I think the instructions for setting up for Wink were lacking slightly but got covered in setting up a Ringo, which was released first. So for first timers it can cause a little problem getting things going. But once sorted any other problems you encounter are likely your own coding errors , w...

Re: Ringo's Light Sensor Sketches
I think its just a comms error that does it. I get it occasionally and I just unplug everything, reboot my asus notebook (dev machine) turn off ringo and reconnect it all and try again and its good. Could also be you have the comm speed (baud rate) set incorrectly. My gear is at home so I cant check ...

Re: How to program wink
Have a look on http://www.plumgeek.com/wink.html for the section marked Wink Demo Software it has a table which has the base sketch that should be what you need as the starting point. this is the "starting from scratch" point you should be starting from. Remember lines starting with "...

Re: Overheating wink wont turn on
Definitely NOT normal behaviour! I have had my Ringo running a circuit for over an hour until its battery was flat with no warmth at all. Lithium batteries are horribly unstable, you may have heard of laptops bursting into flames on the news at times, they provide a great power output at the cost of...

Re: How to program wink
When you get errors they tell you what went wrong so its hard to help unless you post them. My guess is you created a new completely blank sketch, from memory plumgeek provide a "blank" example you should use as a starting point which has the #include line you are missing (which is why you...

Re: Wink Power Button - light out
Mine is similar, the button turns Wink on then off again easily. Not as reliable as the switch on Ringo :( I just press the button firmly with Wink on a steady surface and wait a few seconds before touching it just to see if it settles to an ON state instead of beeping on then off quickly. Dodgy bat...
