Stefan, Yes this works. As I said before, the problem is in the pixelserver code which causes a lot of hanging sockets and animations which never finishes. Yes, filesystem goes read-only. Have to force reboot which runs filesystem check to repair the file system.
Caused by bad code in pgpixelserver. Working on an alternative implementation.

The pixel lib, is it something done just for the spirit or is it a common lib? Spirit-pixel.py is just a front-end to send commands to the pgpixelserver via the network. pgpixelserver processes the received commands and the actual pixel operations are in PixAnimation.py PixAnimation.py uses the rpi...

Regarding the TCP socket problems with the Pi code, see my comments on the latest Kickstarter update.
Cannot test it right now, since I am on travel and away from my Pi(s) and the still unassembled Spirit (pesky small screws).
