I think my ringo is broken

Postby mikasami » Tue Dec 08, 2015 2:23 pm

Hi,

I think my RIngo is broken.

I've been taking care of it, but now it won't work.

Whenever I turn it on, it behaves strangely. Most of the time nothing happens, sometimes its eyes blink red, sometimes its top rear neopixel flashes different colors at a slow rate.

I'm getting the red blink three times with the programmer.

And I tried it both in my Mac and my windows laptop. Same response.

It didn't used to be this way... can I get a replacement?

Code: Select all

avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 2 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x00
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 3 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x00
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 1 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x00
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 4 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x00
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 2 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x00
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 5 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x00

I have seen this. this looks like your usb is not registering with the Robit!

This worked for mine.

Make sure the usb drivers are in stalled threw the device manager.

unplug the UBS connection to the computer. Then plug it back in.

Then turn ringo off and then on using the switch.

Reset ringo using the reset switch.

Cheers!
