Unable to set some LEDs

Postby Spouwny » Sat Oct 03, 2015 1:22 pm

Hi there,

I just started toying with my ringo and get all things set up: I'm able to load some code onto the ringo.

But the LED 2,3,4,5 are stuck to a color.
2: no light at all
3: white
4: white
5: yellow

I made a sample code to test it:

Code: Select all

#include "RingoHardware.h"

void setup(){

  HardwareBegin();        //initialize Ringo's brain to work with his circuitry
  SwitchButtonToPixels();
  PlayStartChirp();       //Play startup chirp and blink eyes
}

void loop(){

  float fFactor = (1.0f + sin(millis() * 0.001f)) * 0.5f; // 0 <= fFactor <= 1.0f

  fFactor *= 0.1f; // LED are hard to the eyes...

  SetAllPixelsRGB( 0 * fFactor, 0 * fFactor, 255 * fFactor); // Light ALL the LEDs !!!

}

PlayStartChirp(); should make the eyes blinks, but it doesn't.
and SetAllPixelsRGB() should make the LEDs slowly glowing in blue.

It works for LEDs 0 and 1, but not for all the others.

Is there something that I'm missing ?

Update: I tried this too to no avail:

Code: Select all

#include "RingoHardware.h"

void setup(){

  HardwareBegin();        //initialize Ringo's brain to work with his circuitry
  SwitchButtonToPixels();
  OffPixels();
  PlayStartChirp();       //Play startup chirp and blink eyes
}

void loop(){

}

The issue seems to disappear after fully charging the ringo.

Well... it seems random: Issue is still there.

Hello Spouwny,

Sent you an email with some suggestions. Each LED relays information for the next one in line, daisy chain style. I wonder if there is a problem with the first LED in the line. Try my suggestions and we'll go from there.

Thanks,
-Kevin
